Buying Tips

There are a lot of things to consider when buying a vehicle, or anything for that matter, online.  There's always the question of who are you dealing with.  Is the seller honest.  Is that hot car really that hot?  Or is it a story that I'm being told just so I'll buy.  There are ways to know.

The most important thing to remember is that you have to do your homework.  You have to know exactly how much a car is worth, according to it's overall condition, year, make, model, etc.  Without this knowledge you'd be guessing at what you're getting.

By buying, and bidding, we can know who we are buying from.  The seller usually has a rating that tells you exactly how he treated other buyers.  He's probably going to treat you the same way, so this is a good yard stick to know exactly whether the person you are purchasing from is an honest seller or not.

Some things you should do, or know, before bidding on a car.

*Know the sellers feedback.  Has he treated previous buyers well?

*Know exactly how much the car is worth, and how much you will pay.  These two numbers may not be the same.  Hopefully, your number to pay will be much lower than what the car is worth.

*Know exactly how you're going to accept delivery of the car.  Will you pick it up directly?  Will you make arrangements with a moving or freight company to bring it to you?  Will the seller make such arrangements.  These things have to be known before you bid on a car.

*Bidding is bidding, no matter what you're bidding on, so make sure you know the rules.  Look here.

*The number one most important thing to remember is "Keep your emotions out of it!".  If you try to bid on a car that you're already in love with then the seller has you right where he wants you.  Be smart and keep your head in the game.  Make sure you read the rules of bidding(above) because these rules will help keep your emotions in check.  Its easy to get caught up in wanting to buy a particular hot car.  Just remember, if you miss this one now another one will come along later that will blow this one away.

*If you're looking to buy a new hot car just remember the dealer does NOT have all the power.  If you do your homework and know exactly what the hot car is worth and how much you will pay then you can and should go to another dealer if they won't meet your price for the hot car. They are the ones who are desperate for your money.  You are not desperate for their hot car.  If you get desperate then you will pay.  (See above).  Just have the knowledge.  Knowledge is power, so know all the facts first.
