The Buying Scenario

This may not be exactly how it happens, but it's happened in the past and it will continue to happen, fortunately for us, the buyer.

What happens is there's a guy, let's call him Joe.  He loves hot cars.  He goes out and buys, or builds, a really HOT car.  He pampers it, takes great care of it.  Has it detailed every couple of days.  He loves his car.

Well, times start getting rough.  Joe's wife has never really been happy with his obsession over his hot car.  She just doesn't understand.  When things start getting tight she starts working on him.  "That hot car is costing us too much!",  "You need to sell that hot car now!".  Well, Joe fights and argues until he's blue in the face.

Ultimately, we know what Joe will wind up doing with his awesome hot car, if he doesn't get divorced first.  Well, after a lot of debate he decides he wants to keep his wife and marriage.  He figures when things start turning around he'll be able to get an even hotter, or better, hot car.  He's put a lot of time into his marriage, so he wants to keep that.  It was looking precarious for a while, but Joe is determined to do the right thing.

So, Joe, mumbling, angry, disgruntled, a little humbled, decides to sell his hot car.  What's he going to do?  He puts it on eBay for a very fair price.  He decides he can live with this price.  A week later the auction expires with no bids.

Joe's wife is still on the war path about the hot car.  He needs to sell it before she blows up again.  So, he does the only thing he can do.  He puts it out there on eBay again for 99 cents....  Yes, that's right, for 99 cents!  No, you'd be crazy to think that the car will sell for 99 cents, because there's a lot of crazy bidders out there wanting to get a hot car for pennies on the dollar and they will bid the price up.  But, good for us, usually not to what it's worth.  Here's your chance to get a really hot car for cheap.  Using the rules of bidding you place your bid on Joe's hot car.

When the auction expires a week later you've won the auction by sniping it at the last second.  The hot car is yours.  You even got it for hundreds less than you were willing to pay.  You got Joe's hot car for a fraction of it's true value.

Joe's crying, but he knows he's doing the right thing.  You're happy because now you have a hot car and you didn't pay an arm and a leg for it by buying it from a fast talking car salesman.

Fortunately, or unfortunately, depending on your point of view this stuff happens a lot.  People like Joe have a hot car and they just need to get rid of it and they don't care what they get for it.  Desperation may have set in.  eBay turns out to be a great place to buy your hot car!

There's aways someone out there in a desperate situation wanting to get rid of their hot car.  Well, not wanting to get rid of their hot car, but having to sell their hot car.  It happens and that's where you come in and help out the seller by taking the hot car off their hands.  After all, look what a hot car can do for you.

As one young driver put it when asked if his hot car (Dad bought it for him) was comfortable, "It's not about comfort.  I look good in it, that's what counts!".  He also confessed that he thinks the girls are more attracted to him as well, but he wouldn't expound on it.  He was afraid his girlfriend would find out he may be attracting unwanted (by her) attention and make him sell his hot car.  :)

Of course, if he sells it on ebay we'll be there to buy that hot car for a really great price!
